Coconut Pudding, Grilled Coconut and BBQ Clam (Lokan Panggang) at Tuaran, Sabah

Image
After spending a day on islands of Sapi Island and Manukan Island at Taman Tunku Abdul Rahman , we went to visit Tuaran Crocodile Farm.  On the way to the crocodile farm, we stopped at this roadside stalls and enjoyed 3 of the must eat food in Sabah.  They are the famous coconut pudding, grilled coconut (kelapa bakar) and barbecue clams (lokan panggang). Coconut pudding, the creamiest and richest in taste pudding I ever had.  The coconut is quite big so you can share in order to leave some space in stomach for the barbecue clams (lokan panggang) The stall also sells coconut pudding in cups if there is no one to share with you. The cup version comes in many flavors such as corn, durian, mango and yam.  Didn't get to try as we already try the original version in a real coconut. The menu of the coconut stall.  You can check out the price here.  You can also order lokan tumis (with ginger, spice, egg or soy sauce). These are the clams.  There are diff...

Sapi Island and Manukan Island at Taman Tunku Abdul Rahman, Sabah

Since the islands are only a short boat ride away from Kota Kinabalu, it is a popular destination among the locals and tourists). For our trip this time, we only went to Sapi and Manukan islands. We reached early in the morning to Jesselton Point to ride a boat to our first island, the Sapi Island. While waiting for our boat to arrive, manage to shoot some of the boat.  Did you notice the banana boat? Saw this Star Cruise's at the Jesselton Point. A group of happy tourist on their way to one of the island, I guess, or perhaps to the Star Cruise's ship? Finally our boat arrived and we are on the way to Sapi Island. The weather is nice and the sea is calm. Arrived on Sapi Island.  We are goi...
